THE PLAYERS Championship: A Family Friendly, Affordable Professional Sporting Event
THE PLAYERS Championship is a world-class sporting event held on Florida's Historic Coast. The March 12 - 17, 2019, event in Ponte Vedra Beach attracts hundreds of thousands of fans each year, especially families, and here's why.
THE PLAYERS Stadium Course-and everything about this tournament-was designed with the complete fan experience in mind, from the stadium-style seating, to the outside-the-ropes experiences and venues, to the food and beverage offerings. Thanks to one of the most kid-friendly policies in all of sport, there is no limit for the number of youth (18 and under) admitted free with one ticketed adult. In addition, THE PLAYERS offers a Family Plan package that makes the tournament even more affordable.
Family-Friendly Affordable PLAYERS!
Where else can a family of four attend a professional sporting event for as little as $50? The cost for a family of four with two adults and two children is as little as $50 with free parking.
Single day Stadium Passes range from $25 - $70 for adults (age 18+). Children age 18 and under get free admission with a ticketed adult and there is no limit to the number of children that can enter free.
Stadium Passes grant access to more than 19 on-site public venues; local food and beverage options; rope-side access to your favorite players, and much more.
Compare the cost of a day for the family to THE PLAYERS to a trip to the movies or a local attraction:
Do you coach a youth sports team? Bring the whole team to THE PLAYERS for free. What better way to kick off or end a season than a team outing to a world-class sporting event. The entire team (18 and under) can attend THE PLAYERS with their coach and only the coach needs to pay for a Stadium Pass.
Additional perks with the PLAYERS Family Plan
Thursday through Saturday, a Family Plan package offers additional savings and benefits for families seeking a day at THE PLAYERS. Families get two adult Stadium Passes, unlimited youth admission and two $10 concession vouchers. The Family Plan is $120 for Thursday and $140 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (taxes not included). Parking passes are additional, but any car with four or more passengers parks for free under THE PLAYERS "Four for Free" policy. The Family Plan is being sold at 30 participating Daily's convenience stores through March 17, until all tickets are sold.
On Tuesday and Wednesday of tournament week, as in previous years, fans can still park for free in the general parking lot, and no parking pass is required. From Thursday-Sunday at THE PLAYERS, however, fans are required to purchase daily parking passes in advance ($35 Thursday for general parking; $40 per day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in general parking). Bring your own snacks!
THE PLAYERS will allow fans to bring in their own food in a 1-gallon clear, plastic bag where food items are also wrapped in clear wrap. This policy does not allow fans to bring in beverages.
Fans can refill their empty water bottles at the filtered water stations throughout the course. This policy does not allow fans to bring in outside water bottles and/or beverages. Filtered drinking water is available in the permanent restrooms near The Patio, Taste of JAX and Wine & Dine on 9, and behind 16 green; so keep that bottle and refill it as many times as you'd like as a way to stay hydrated and save money at THE PLAYERS.
Kid Zone presented by The First Tee
There are plenty of activities for children to enjoy with family-friendly experiences for kids of all ages. The Kid Zone presented by The First Tee is an enclosed air-conditioned venue, located in THE PLAYERS Welcome Experience, with interactive activities. This is not a daycare area, as parents are required to stay with their children, but it allows parents the ability to take a break and relax in the shade while the kids have some fun.
Family Care Suite presented by Baptist Health
As part of Baptist's program as the on-site provider of medical services, the Family Care Suite will extend its services to attendees of THE PLAYERS with the venue serving as a comfort station for mothers and fathers to care for their babies and have a private, comfortable venue as needed during tournament week.
Autograph Zone for Kids
Autographs are not allowed on course during practice days and tournament competition days, but THE PLAYERS has designated "Autograph Zones" on course, one at the practice ground and the other at the scoring area behind 18 green, to allow fans the opportunity to meet their favorite players and get that coveted signature. There is a "kid corner" within the autograph zones designated specifically for youth. PGA TOUR players have been asked to spend time in the two designated autograph zones before and/or after play.
